In CrossFit, variance means constantly changing the time, loading, rep schemes, and types of movements. Here’s a breakdown of how we incorporate variance:

  • Time: Some workouts are short and intense, like a 10-minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible). Others might be longer, like a 30-minute endurance session.
  • Loading: Some days, we lift heavy with workouts like a 5×5 back squat. Other days, we use lighter weights for high-rep exercises.
  • Rep Scheme: This varies from low-rep, high-weight sets to high-rep, low-weight circuits.
  • Types of Movement: Our workouts include a wide range of movements. One day, you might focus on strength with back squats. Another day could be cardio-based with rowing and jump ropes. Then, we mix it up with a workout that includes pull-ups, kettlebell swings, and running.
