Many locals from Daytona, Port Orange, and Ormond come to us with a goal to lose weight.

They want to lose weight, feel better, and get healthy.

With adding in CrossFit 3-4 days per week and making simple nutrition changes, most people obtain sustainable results within the first 6 months.

After that, we will often see the scale plateau, while performance in the gym and aesthetics continue to improve. Since the scale stopped moving, our members will often ask how to lose more weight.

We’re going to dive into whether you actually need to lose weight to get the results and health benefits you desire or not.

According to a meta-analysis review done by wod-science.com, the data compares between normal weight, overweight, and obese people. Both red and blue bars represent the subjects’ mortality risk. The red bar represents subjects that are fit based on VO2 max. The blue bar represents those that are not fit.

There was little to no impact on overall health based on weight for unfit subjects. Whether your skinny or obese, little to no exercise puts you at extreme risk for morbidity.

Regardless of weight, subjects that exercised in the gym had a much lower risk for morbidity.

The ideal is clearly being normal weight and fit. Also, being fit and obese means you’re at a lower health risk than being normal weight and inactive.

All that said, we all want to be healthier, look better, and have more energy.

If you do all that and you love the way you look and feel, will actually care what the scale says? Hopefully not.

We’re here to help.

Crazy diets, running on the treadmill, and quick fixes just don’t work.

The way to get reach your goals isn’t complicated. You just have to get into the gym 3-4 times per week and make small changes to your diet.

Our coaches will keep you accountable, moving safe, making progress, and even having fun.
